“Falco” UAV suitable also for civilian purposes

(WAPA) - “Falco” (“Hawk”) is a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) made by Selex Galileo (Finmeccanica Group), designed to acquire operational scenario in real time from several targets. 

Tactical system is designed, in particular, for civil purposes, to border surveillance, both maritime and land, to prevent illegal immigration, surveillance of oil and gas pipelines, fighting illegal fishing and for advanced environment monitoring. 

It can operate h24 in most critical weather conditions and vertical landing short-take-off. It has a more than 200 km link range (extendable), 8-14 hours endurance and can reach a 5.000 m. of altitude. It can be equipped with laser designation, maritime surveillance radar, infra-red camera, chaff/flares dispenser NBC and Hyperspectral sensor and auto-protection equipments. (Avionews)
